This company provides free telephone technical support for HOME users.
The service has ran since april 2004 after the founder had many retail computer jobs.
His back ground is in technical support. ( The hardware inside the machine)
and has found over the years that less and less focus had been put on what was IN the machine and was put into what could be sold WITH the machine.
Also the focus was shifted to the wrong parts of systems to acheive sales.
Offering systems with a big storage capacity and a good ram count seemed to be the norm.
While obvious things like mother board brand with maching processors and what chipset controlled sound and or video.
The more a system was set up with fully intergrated items the less controll for upgrades came with these types of builds.
From doing repairs on these machines and not being able to fully FIX or upgrade a machine to prolong their life spans, more and more custome builds for various types of users were being performed.
Keeping detaild notes was key to forming a real customer service method that gave answers and was a successful business model to maintain the ability to keep servicing people.
The free phone support line was put into place to always answer questions on the phone for free. The only service you can pay for from ZIMM machines is to have a technician actaully touch your machine.
This can only happen after you have used every technique over the phone to solve your issue.
For one we would have to determain that the situation definatly can not be fixed without a tech. Or the situation is just to complicated to fix over the phone and directions are to hard to follow.
These situations are very rare.
The techs at ZIMM machines are very well trained and have a great minds eye for machines and can understand the craziest descriptions of your issue.
